Learn by Replication

In studying the world of design specifically for designing an interface, you can use one of the learning techniques, namely by replication.
Here are some points in replication techniques :

1. Replicate Real Products
    Download popular existing application a rebuilt in the design tool. Try to understand sizes, hierarchy, spacing etc.
   
2. Study Style Guides
    Get style guides from Apple and Google and study how they built their interfaces from the smallest components up.
   
3. Do not Copy
    Once you are comfortable building your own designs go for that do not be afraid to experiment with your own ideas.
